The Royal Multispecialty hospital, Tirunelveli, is founded and lead by Dr. A. Syed Ibrahim, a senior Neonatologist and Paediatrician.
It was started in 2007 as a Newborn, Children and Maternity hospital with the largest Level 3 NICU and PICU in the zone, backed with advanced technology in the care of critically ill neonates and children. Our institution serves as a referral centre for sick children from Tirunelveli and the nearby districts in south Tamil nadu.

Dr. Syed Ibrahim, after his post graduation in Institute of Child health, Chennai. (Egmore children hospital), become a member of the Royal college of physician, MRCP, (Paed), UK and was working in paediatric and neonatology unit, Royal Children Hospital, UK, King Khalid Hospital, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and at Newborn, children division of Pushpalatha Maternity Hospital, Tirunelveli.
For the last 13 years, he is the director of Royal Hospital and Head - Neonatology and paediatric division in Royal Hospital, NGO ‘A’ Colony, Tirunelveli.
The neonatology and paediatric unit is an advanced tertiary care centre to take care of all neonatal and paediatric emergencies from Tirunelveli district and from the nearby districts. The neonatal.and pediatric mortality is very low like in advanced countries.
The unit cares around 100 sick newborns and 250 sick paediatric patient per month. He is a teaching faculty for the neonatal fellowship programme at Royal Hospital under the Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical university. Chief editor of the magazine ‘CME’, published from Royal Hospital.
Dr. S.Mohamed Razeen completed his initial medical training in 2010 from Thoothukudi medical college. And then pursued extensive post graduate training in the field of pediatrics and neonatology from eminent institutions (manipal academy of higher education, Manipal and from Kanchi kamakoti Childs trust hospital, Chennai).
After completing fellowship in neonatal intensive care (MGR University) he works as consultant in the department of pediatrics and neonatology at Royal Hospital, tirunelveli.
His area of interest is in improving the morbidity free survival of very tiny preterms (less than 1000g) and sick neonates in South Tamilnadu.
To achieve the target he has been instrumental in organizing and constantly upgrading the tertiary neonatal intensive care services at Royal Hospital, Tirunelveli. And make state of art medical therapies in neonatology (including high frequency oscillation, inhaled nitric oxide, whole body cooling) available at Royal Hospital, which is the first of its kind to efficiently deliver Such services in the region.
